Sorry, no, Samba can't use the IPX protocol for CIFS. It would be a really good idea to install TCP/IP on your Windows box if you want to connect to eg Linux.
The only thing I use IPX on my Linux boxen for is to connect to a large number of NetWare 4.11 servers that will only do NCP over IPX. I can then run scripts over all their filesystems simultaneously and other daft things like that !!

Is there a patch for samba to get it working with ipx/spx?
