hi,
what i want is to make samba locking a file
whil it is in use by a client.
IMHO that means that a second try to open it should result in
something like " file in use opening readonly" or something like
this.
is this possible with 2.2.x and if so what configuration options need
to
be set.
At the moment the only thing i get is a short time of locking
(reported by smbstatus)
It seems as if the lock is released after the client has completed
reading/writing.
I wonder if it is possible to reallize some kind of sessionbased
locking ..like netatalk
does.
kindly regards,
Niko
