[Samba] Password Size Limit

Is there a maximum password size limit on samba/linux.
I created a user on Samba using LDAP backend, assigned
it a 20 character password on the samba machine using
smbpasswd. Then logged on to windows 2000 machine and
tried changing the password it gives the error message
"Username or the old password is not correct. Make
sure you type the password using propercase. Make sure
the CAPLOCK key is not pressed." This does not occur
for smaller passwords.

I am using Samba-3.0-alpha18
