[Samba] 2.2.3a PDC/Win2K, again

Thanks, much appreciated.  You're right, I didn't need winbindd.  What I 
*did* need to do was to add the machine name as a user on the Samba 
server:

useradd -u 10001 -g 300 -d /dev/null -s /bin/false geezer-w2k$

I had previously defined GID 300 as a common group for the Samba 
clients. 

After this, I was able to join the domain from the Windoze workstation 
without a problem.
