Deskjet 990C Printer

Hi,
I have a big problem with my HP Deskjet 990C Printer: The Windows 2000 
drivers from HP just don't work for this printer on my Linux box. I can use 
other drivers included on the Windows CD-ROM - they all work perfectly 
well. But when I use the HP Drivers and want to access the properties for 
the printer I only get following message: "Function address 0x70f26a3 
caused a protection fault. (exception code 0xc0000005) Some or all property 
page(s) may not be displayed."
Has anyone successfully installed the HP Deskjet 990C Drivers for Windows 
2000 for a printer connected via Samba?
