AFAIK those settings control smbclient behaviour as well. For smbmount you
want the iocharset & codepage settings (and the matching kernel nls
modules compiled). Details in the smbmount manpage.
smbfs does not support unicode (yet, and I don't know if smbclient does)
so you may still have trouble there.
