User owned processes

Hi all,

I am running a solaris 7 version of Samba 2.2.1a with win2k clients. Can
someone explain under what circumstances samba processes are spawned
under the ownership of the user and not root. I have a pile of smb
processes owned by root and one or two owned by users but not all users
have their own processes. I am not sure what causes this to happen.
