linux /samba hung

Hi

I have a linux server that is running samba. Sometimes this server just 
hangs. It will not respond untill i do cold reboot. How do i troubleshoot 
this problem. I knew i was running veritas bachup agent last night. Could it 
have caused it. Somebody help.
