win2k wants encrypted passwords, unless you regedit them not to. I think
someone said that it would just terminate the connection if encryption is
off.
We run a samba 2.0.6 (I don't admin it or it would have been 2.0.7 a long
time ago ...) with some 30 win2k clients and a NT4 as PDC/password server.
There really is nothing special to configure:
workgroup = <DOMAIN name>
encrypt passwords = yes
security = domain
password server = <PDC name>
and of course ...
character set = iso8859-1
client code page = 850
and other than the shares it's all from the sample config.
Read the ENCRYPTION.txt, Win95.txt and WinNT.txt documents if you haven't
fixed encrypted passwords.
