$ smbclient '\\pippo\user1share' -Uuser1%pwd_you_used_in_smbpasswd_-a

does it work?

If yes, then try deleting all the *.pwl files in c:\windows and retry.

I think you should forget (and don't use that dialog at first) about the old
domain password since samba does not know it.
