I tried looking unto it but I believe that my application is opening the
database in shared level.

Is this means that I can't use samba for my access database?

Hi
Access has its own locking mechanism I believe. Check for *.ldb
If you open an access file it may be opened exclusively as far as Access is
concened.
Check on how you open the Access file.
There's another gotcha if you are running on a shared Access application ( run
from server )
ie system.mdw opened exclusively.
There's a whole bunch of other samba locking issues which I'm stumbling through
myself.
