HP-UX 11.0 locking problems (samba 2.0.5a)

I'm running samba 2.0.5a on a HP-UX 11.0 system (no tweaks to the OS)

nmbd and smbd run, but any time I try to connect to the share, I get
this error. Knowing only little about how this all works, I'm currently
stumped.
