Hi,
I have Linux (SUSE 6.1) installed on a Thinkpad 770 (Ethernet
PCMCIA-Card, latest PCMCIA-drivers). Everything related to the network
works fine: FTP, Ping, Web, etc.
I took an existing and working configuration from a desktop and
mirrored it to the Notebook.
I run through the procedure in diagnosis.txt and failed on the 3rd
step:
When trying an
smbclient -L localhost
i receive the message:
Added interface ip=150.150.190.54 bcast=150.150.255.255
nmask=255.255.0.0
read_socket_with_timeout: timeout read. read error = Broken pipe.
session request to LOCALHOST failed
read_socket_with_timeout: timeout read. read error = Broken pipe.
session request to *SMBSERVER failed
It doesnt matter if the PC is in a Network or standalone, the result is
the same.
I modified the varaible TCP_NODELAY, but the result didnt change.
Upgrade to the latest PCMCIA drivers neither.
Teh error is the same with Samba 2.0.5a and 2.0.6
Anybody an idea?
Thanks
Axel
