Latest version being misreported??

I have downloaded samba-2.0.5a.tar.gz from my local mirror site
(de.samba.org).  "./configure" and "make install" appear to work without a
hitch - files in /usr/local/samba/bin are clearly updated.

BUT when I run smbclient to check my version I get Server=[Samba 1.9.18p10].
Not a huge problem as samba is doing all I'm asking it to, but I am a little
confused as to which version I'm running.

If anyone can throw some light on this I'd be very grateful.
