couldn't set effective gid error

Which kernel are you using?

I think there is a problem with the old 2.0.36 kernel.

I upgraded to 2.2.x kernel and the problem wasn't there anymore.

The problem was that setresgid in smbd/uid.c it didn't return the right
value. It reported error all the time. A solution is to comment out
#define HAVE_SETRESUID 1 in include/config.h I think. Haven't tried it
my self.
