It worked before, now it doesn't

Hello,

I had Samba 1.9.18 running on my Slackware system just fine. I backed up my
smb.conf, then downloaded and installed the precompiled 2.0.3 binaries from
the Samba website. I installed by moving the samba-2.0.3-Slackware.tar file
to the root, and then by running tar -xvf on it. The samba daemons were
stopped at the time. I copied my backup smb.conf back to /etc, and then I
joined the NT domain, and got a message indicating that the join was
successful. I then rebooted the system. Samba is not accessible from any
workstations, and when I execute "smbclient -L samba" (samba being the name
of this machine), I get:

Added Interface ip=10.1.2.16 bcase=10.1.255.255 nmask=255.255.0.0
Session request to samba failed
Session request to *SMBSERVER failed

Anyone have any ideas on what I need to do?

Thanks for the help!
John Rauch
