Specifying alternate location for smb.conf

Is there any way to specify an alternate loction for smb.conf to smbclient.  I
don' see an argument for this on the man page. I am running SAMBA version 2.0 on
Solaris 6 - installed from the pre-compiled package.

Ideally I would like to specify the location of smb.conf in an evinronment
variable - does SAMBA support this?
