software metering under samba

Hi folks,

Is there any software metering hints and tricks that people could 
give me?

We would like to implement something that woudl allow us to 
only allow a limited number of concurrent connections to some 
programs in samba shares.

Please don't be afraid to respond back with the obvious answers 
as I seem to miss them.
