Samba, PAM and Netware question

I am currently running Samba 2.0.3 on my RedHat 5.2 linux box.  I have 
some services (such as login, ftpd) set up to authenticate via our 
Netware server.  How can I do this with Samba?  I've tried placing the 
same line in /etc/pam.d/samba as I have in the login and ftp files of the 
same directory but, as far as i can tell, Samba doesn't even try to use 
the Pam module to authenticate users.  Btw, the module I am attempting to 
use is the Netware authentication module by David Airlie.  Is there 
something special I have to do to make Samba try and use PAM to 
authenticate?  I installed the samba rpm which, I thought, was compiled 
to use PAM by default.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in
