I'm running Samba on AIX 4.1; 4.2 and 4.3 with no problem regarding the option security=user. Try always to have the latest version. Look at the mirrors Samba Web site, and download the latest binary I uploaded for Samba (all binaries are compatible on AIX 4.x platform). -C. Dumont
