Forced file locking?

Greetings all,

I'm trying to figure out a way to "force" samba to lock a file even though
the client application hasn't asked for a lock. Here's my situation:

I have a series of web pages stored on a samba server that are updated
fairly frequently by 3 or 4 staff members via a mapped drive letter. MS
Front Page Express (I know, not the best, but it's all I have at the
moment.) doesn't request a DENY_ALL exclusive lock, so the potential is
there for more than 1 staff member to be working on the same page at the
same time, which obviously means someone is going to lose their work,
probably without realizing it. :-(

Is there a way for force samba to use DENY_ALL for any file that's open for
a given share even if the client doesn't request the lock or some other way
around my problem?

Does the full version of Front Page request locks? If so, maybe I need to
purchase it or another html editor that does.

Any help is most appreciated.
