problem with samba served apps crashing

Hey all,

First off, sorry for the length, but I dont know what exactly is needed to
help me, so I gave all info up front.

I have a problem with 1.9.18p3 (or p2,p1) that didnt show with versions prior
to .18. Is it a bug or is it me? I dont know. What happens is this. I have ms
office installed on a samba drive. This drive is shared to a win nt
workstation. I start Word, for instance, and after the program (doesnt seem
to matter what program) runs for awhile (several minutes), it just exits. No
crash message, the program just stops working and dies. If I try to restart
the program, I get an error message on nt that says the app will terminate
press ok. I press ok and then I can restart the program. I have included
logfiles of both occurances for someones perusal.

I have NO earthly idea whats wrong. It seems that samba forgets I'm connected
and disconnects me. Can someone explain why? This didnt happen with versions
prior to .18.

Machine info: p120 running stock rh4.2 with the 1.9.18p3 rpm. P100 running
windows nt sp3. I'm not using the clear text registry hack (i.e. using
encrypted passwords).
