What's with "Can't create or use IPC area" error?

I'm getting an error in the log.smb log file saying: Can't create or use
IPC area.  Error was File exists.

I've recently up'ed the MAX_OPEN_FILES parameter in local.h so I would
assume this had something to do with it.

Ideas?
