problems with samba with RH5

I am on a DHCP LAN using RH5, and everyone else is using win95 or WinNT at my
campus.  I can't for the life of me see other computers on the network nor can I
make it so they can see me, help?
No one here knows correct hostname to use either, and my IP is dynamic
