That may prove difficult to carry off considering the large number of
files in a variety of different directories involved on our production
system, and our continued inability to reproduce this bug in a test
environment.

As for reporting the bug upstream for tracking purposes, I leave that at
the discretion of the developers here, as it is of much less value to us
as it is to them.  It is easier for me to keep my bug reporting of VMS-
specific Samba issues to this one list.  If you can make a compelling
case against this approach, though, I'll consider changing my habits.  I
just don't want to find myself in the position of taking the extra time
to write bug reports to bug tracking systems that nobody reads, and that
I will certainly never refer to myself, either.
