If you want your message read, post in plain text.

Recently 4 messages came in in HTML format.

If you want people to read your messages, and respond to them,
they need to be in plain text format.

If you do not know how to configure your mailer for plain text,
just ask.

Note HTML or Rich text formats should not be sent to anyone that
you have not first verified want to accept them. HTML trashes the digest
of this mailing list, and is a needless pain for dialup users, especially
those that are charged by the minute.

Many corporate E-MAIL systems can only deal with plain text messages.

VCF cards should also not be sent unless the other party requires them, to
everyone else (except spammers) they are just useless junk wasting
disk space and dialup access time.

No bitmaps either for signature file are wanted either.

Posting a message in HTML means that it goes to the bottom of my queue
of messages to answer, and it is likely that I will not respond to it for
at least 24 hours.

Now as to the SAMBA on OpenVMS issues:

There are at least 3 binary distributions out there, the latest
to my knowledge being 2.0.6.

If you do not specify what version you are running, the answers that
you get will likely be meaningless.

There are currently two architectures, VAX and ALPHA.

There are at least 3 different TCP/IP programs in use.

There are several major and minor VMS releases involved.

Again, if you omit that information, it is not likely you will get a
useful answer.

And "It does not work" is not a good problem description.
