problems connecting to share - security problem

Hi there,
 
I have just installed the latest version of samba for vms alpha
 
the server appears to start and runs the testparm ok but when trying to
connect to a share
it fails with a variety of errors relating to user security
 
can someone please provide a document or pointer that tells how to go about
configuring
samba on vms that indicates what needs to be
setup/configured/created/defined to allow
an nt user in a domain to successfully connect to a share offered by vms
samba.
 
the other thing is what is the correct config file definition to offer a
share, I think I have it defined
but cannot tell if it is being offered or even going to the correct
directory.
