You might also want to take a look at https://github.com/ubiqx-org/Carnaval/
I haven't gotten around to committing any real SMB code, but the NBT
implementation is complete and fairly well documented.
I don't know what your goal is, but if you just want an NBT implementation
in Python then Carnaval is probably a good starting point.
