samba 4 xattrs

I tried to look in with mc and accessed the file attributes. Normally I should see something like root/3000, but I only see root/root ownerships. I will unpack it and see. What is the untar option to unpack with the attributes in place?

If you backup with tar --xattrs, the owner should be preserved. My tar
on RHEL6 does. E. g.:

-rwxrwx--- root/Administrators 20 2012-10-18 10:05
2013-05-27_20-55-01/usr/local/samba/var/locks/sysvol/muc.medizinische-genetik.de/scripts/Default
User.V2/ntuser.ini

Did you unpacked the tar.gz? Or did you looked inside with something
that shows the file listing like 'less'?

Regards
Marc
