4.0.3 (classicupgraded) directory acls

Hi,

Sorry for this newby question, but what is the current status of acl 
code (in version 4.0.3), particularly is it safe, to enable it (comment 
out search:acl = false in smb.conf) in the case of a classicupgraded 
domain (at beta8) without running upgradeprovision or dbcheck --fix? I'm 
running two 4.0.3 AD DCs (replicating) with read acls disabled.

Thank you in advance for your patience with me.

P.S. At the weekend I'll be able to setup a test network if that could 
help enlightening the situation. But still not sure what needs to be 
tested, whatcould be the corner cases.
