Samba + PDC + BDC + Master + Slave

The info you have gave us is pretty vague. Are you looking at a Samba 3 or
a Samba 4 type of setup? By the looks of things you are talking about Samba
3 (I'm assuming master and slave mean ldap in this case) if this is right,
the Samba3 by example is more than enough documentation to get you going.
As far as which linux flavor, what ever you are comfortable with, google
around for bugs related to Samba and that flavor, then make your choice
based on that info. Personally I am currently setup with a samba 4
"primary" DC on ubuntu 10.04, and a "secondary" samba4 DC on ubuntu 12.04.
Samba4 pretty much runs straight out of the box if you follow the Samba4
Howto, however its not quite as stable as Samba 3 is. I will say with Samba
3 + ldap things can get a little tricky, so choosing a guide should be done
carefully, and if you are unsure of one guide compare it to another. Do
some research on google before you make the jump.

Good luck,
Ricky

(sorry if you get this twice Hanumanth Rao, I always forget to hit reply
all!)
