Top level build now in master

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for handling this top-level build thing!

Just wanted to let you know, that I am getting few warning for
no prototyped functions. Mainly functions that are declared in
auto-generated 'proto.h' headers. I guess it is just a matter
of fixing the include path (as it moved to the upper directory).
Do you have any clues how this can be fixed?
