Hi
Regarding the DNS issue, I have used this tool to have ldap as the backend
server of bind9. see here for details

http://github.com/mnagy/bind-dyndb-ldap

I still trying to figure out, how to extend samba4 schema to include bind
classes and attributes so I could use it, and not running a native openldap
server.
Please note however that since samba4 started using
http://www.dnspython.org/ i don't know hot it is going to be effected.

Maybe Andrew can tell more
