HELP!!!! Samba under SCO Unix 7.14 with Windows XP

Hi!
 
We have problems to connect from Windows XP to Unixware 7.14. We think, the 
 problems are the rights under samba. Have you any manuals for that???? 
We can see the samba-folder under windows, but we cannot change any files  
under windows. 
We have tested rights 0666 and 0777.
 
What's about the Windows-Usernames? Must we insert the user into the  
smb.conf? 
And when yes, how under samba 2?????
