Patch for bug #4370 not applied: any reason?

Dear Samba developers,

I recently came back on Debian bug #461048 which turned out to be
partly bug #4370 from Samba's BugZilla.

The issue resumes to smbumount not updating /etc/mtab when
unmounting relative paths even though the umount succeeds.

In #4370, a patch seems to be proposed but has never been
incorporated. Is there any reason for this not to happen?
