After setting a profile level, use `smbstatus -P` to dump profiling counters.

While you're there you may also want to take a look at kmchart:
http://oss.sgi.com/projects/pcp/kmchart.git/man/html/index.html

It can be used to plot metrics exported by the Samba PMDA in realtime.
