"dir" gave the correct volume ID and the software still did
not work? I think then it becomes a bigger issue, you might
have to contact your software vendor to find out what it
wants the file server to respond with. We can certainly
patch Samba to do very much the same that W2k3 does, but
this will be an arduous try-and-error cycle.
