codepage for embedded system

Hi 
I need to run samba on an embedded device

I succeded to compile samba version 2.2.12 for a mips embedded system

Do I need to compile tools for generating codepage ( make_smbcodepage ,
make_unicodemap) for mips
and run it on my mips embedded system ?
Or juste copmile theses tools on the PC
