Rod,

I think you might have some misconceptions of Samba 4.
Samba 4 is architecture and technology.  The name is
slightly misleading in that it implies that this particular
code base will become the successor to the current Samba
3.0.x releases.  It would have been better to give it a
code name rather than a numeric release. But that is all
in hindsight.

What is sure is that there eventually will be a Samba 4.0.0
release.  What is unsure is what that code base will actually
look like.  The technology preview releases are just
snapshots from the Samba 4 research branch.  They are intended
for people who want to see the technology.  But they are
not intended as product and hence I would never recommend
writing about any TP, alpha, or beta releases as things
are bound to change before the final release.
