FYI: I think the Excell opening files on a read-only share bug (#3088) is fixed in the current SAMBA_3_0_RELEASE branch - only one more to look at.... It was a problem with a downlevel (OPEN_AND_X) request - that's why it didn't show up more often. Jeremy.
