Samba error: session setup failed: Call returned zero bytes (EOF)

Hi Jerry,
I think I've found the problem - as I expected, it was a configration error.
I have modified nsswitch.conf in accordance with the Samba-OpenLDAP howto, 
with the following entries:
passwd:  files ldap
shadow:  files ldap
group:    files ldap.

No I have changed ldap back to nis and Samba now works.

Thanks for your help - it was your comment about nss_ldap that caused me to 
check there.
