| Flags is not new.  It was in 3.0.11.  Looks like it was added in
| r4970.  I'd be willing to move it this once since the released
| version is not really in shipping code yet (unless vendors are shipping
| a version of thatpatch anyways).  I can code it up pretty quickly and

ok.  This seems to work.  At least it is a drop in replacement
for 3.0.10 and earlier.  I'll settle for that.  And I'll add a
note to the release notes.
