samba 4: a new configuration system?

Is there a facility for directly importing text format configuration data
into ldb (hopefully preserving the smb.conf syntax)?

Is there (or will there be) a version control plug in for ldb as well?
Will it be possible to keep Samba configuration history in RCS/CVS/SVN/whatever,
or will tracking Samba's configuration become as futile an exercise as windows
registry maintenance (or most Active Directory change management)?
