I'm trying to set up a linux samba and try to make it
join to a Windows controlled domain with Kerberos
authentication. Does this work ?

Here's what I'm trying :

· Setup a Win2k3 domain controller
· Install linux client, running this version
of samba
[root]# smbd -V
Version 3.0.3-5
· Run authconfig
o enable Kerberos authentication
o Set KDC to point to the domain controller
o Check (ads) and set the domain controller
address in winbind settings
· Run – net ads join –U administrator
<prompts for password>

At this point, it doesn’t show any messages and my
guess is it is not joined to a domain.

The log shows these errors –
[root]# tail winbindd.log
[…]

nsswitch/winbindd_util.c:add_trusted_domain(180)

[2005/04/20 09:26:27,
1]nsswitch/winbindd_util.c:init_domain_list(327)
Could not fetch sid for our domain PRASHP-DOM

Any idea on what could be going on ?

Thanks !
Prashanth
