new samba setup help needed.

Hello,

I am new to samba and trying to setup a server for about 150 users.
Have been readig the docs for two days now but could not get to any
definite results regarding what kind of of setup should be deployed.

We are a company of about 150 users and I want a centralised
authentication server + printer server. Currently I am a bit confused 
i) whether to have a ldap database or not ?
ii) I think the setup should only be a samba acting as a PDC server. 
iii) Preferably I want the password  communication between the server
     and client to be encrypted. 

Please advise me how to go about it.
Also are there any other docs available anywhere else for reference.
