Can you try using Steve French's latest CIFSfs ? The core Samba server
is tracking Steve's client much more closely than the smbfs code, and
I'd like to know about any but w.r.t. home directories. We're aiming
to allow diskless Linux served off a Samba server by the end of this
year....
