Strange error message...

I just installed Samba 2.2.7-SuSE on a SuSE Linux 8.2.

Even with the simplest configuration file I can't get it working.

I have the config file
[global]
  netbios name = LXT4
  workgroup = TEST
  security = user
  encrypt passwords = yes

[public]
  path = /tmp
  read only = no

and try

  smbclient -L LXT4 -N
the answer is quite fast:
  added interface ip=192.168.39.53 bcast=192.168.39.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
  added interface ip=192.168.39.43 bcast=192.168.39.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
then a long pause, and:
  session setup failed: Call timed out: server did not respond after 20000
milliseconds

There are no error messages in the log file.

Can someone imagine what this means ? Which server doesn't respond?

Thanks for all hints,
Frank
