What I did was simply do, on the unix side:
mkdir b1996
cd b1996
touch nirtest123456
touch nirtest12345
and on the W2K side use a command line prompt, map the drive using net use, and try to rd /s b1996
That's all I did... I sent traces to the list and rsharpe, and those traces indicate it has something to do with mangling, so I'm going to take a closer look at my configuration and see if I did anything there...
