It is faster and there is less chance of error.  It does mean that the
comparisons will be case-sensitive (with respect to the original name).

Note that nmblookup does not currently allow for mixed case names.  That's
good, since all (unencoded) NetBIOS names should be uppercase, but there
are some applications (IIS and some third party stuff) that register mixed
case names.
