samba 2.2.25 & NT4.0 SP 5

Hi Simo,

Thanks, I will no more bother!

The server does not use any packet filtering. all Windows2000 / WindowsXP
client can see the server. The NT box can also rech the server via ( ftp,
telnet, ping, ssh, rlogin)

So it is only a trouble with this version 2.2.5 and NT4.0.

The linux Boxes running samba are SuSE 8.1. ( I also compared the samba
files of the both installed version (no differences)).

Thank you again for your reply and the time that you spent.

Best regards
Karim

Ok Karim, you got it wrong twice.
I suppose you are referring to versions 2.2.3 and 2.2.5 (the dots
matter).

First of all, I would say you should really upgrade to 2.2.8a, these old
versions does not have vital security fixes.

Besides, I cannot help you out if you do not define the problem a bit
more, I cannot still read minds, so I do not know what is the
configuration of your servers, what OS they run on, if they have packet
filtering enabled, nor I can guess your network topology.

Please give some more info and PLEASE give them on the users mailing
list (samba at samba.org), samba-technical at samba.org is reserved to
development problems not user helping.

Simo.
